Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted free tuition classes in various locations across West Bengal to support the education of underprivileged weaver’s children. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were forced to discontinue these classes. The primary reason for this discontinuation was the impact of COVID-19. Additionally, at that time, our operations relied on unpaid volunteers who generously contributed their time and efforts for teaching and administrative tasks.

We are delighted to share that in 2023, we have successfully resumed this initiative in a more developed and structured manner. Our renewed program, called PATHSHALA, goes beyond being a mere free tuition class. It now operates as a comprehensive and free active learning school, catering to children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who would otherwise be unable to afford such educational opportunities.

At PATHSHALA, we not only cover the school syllabus through our tuition sessions to support basic education, but we also conduct engaging and interactive active learning sessions. These sessions incorporate various activities, games, documentary shows, and other creative methods to enhance the learning experience for the children. By offering a holistic approach to education, we aim to provide a nurturing environment where children can thrive academically and personally.

In our renewed initiative, we are proud to announce a collaboration with an esteemed organization called “PRITHIBIR PATHSHALA,” which is dedicated to scholarly and educational pursuits. Through this collaboration, we have gained valuable support in the form of educational modules and experienced active learning teachers. Unlike before, our volunteers involved in this project are now remunerated, ensuring the sustainability and continuity of this initiative.

To enhance the learning experience, we have also acquired a digital projector for documentary shows, enabling us to provide visual learning opportunities to the children. Additionally, we are working towards establishing a library within PATHSHALA, which will further enrich the educational resources available to the students.

We have initiated the first centre in Fulia, West Bengal, and our goal is to establish 10-12 more centres across different locations in West Bengal by the end of 2023. By expanding our reach, we aim to extend the benefits of our educational program to a larger number of underprivileged children, empowering them with knowledge and opportunities for a brighter future.

We need financial support for PATHSHALA to meet-up following expenses
  • Fees of teachers (recurring cost)
  • Electricity bill (recurring cost)
  • Refreshment for kids (recurring cost)
  • Classroom essentials (one time cost for opening new PATHSHALA)
  • Projector & Computer (one time cost for opening new PATHSHALA)
  • Classroom setup cost (one time cost for opening new PATHSHALA)
